For PvE the best archery weapons are the composite bow with its fast speed and armor ignore, and the crossbow with it’s very high base damage and mortal wound. For PvP with Ultima Online Archery weapons you have even more versatile choices. The Heavy Crossbow will allow you to dismount and it boasts the highest base damage of all archery weapons. The only tradeoff is it is the slowest weapon as well. Another strong bow in PvP is the Composite Bow, which is much quicker and has both armor ignore and moving shot. Every good pvper needs a mortal wound weapon so we recommend the Bow for its ability to paralyze and mortal wound while still being a fairly quick weapon.
